There is a triangular contest between the Congress, TMC, and BJP in Baharampur. Congress's Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, TMC's Yusuf Pathan, and BJP's Nirmal Kumar Saha are contesting in the Behrampur Lok Sabha.
West Bengal Congress President Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury is the current MP from Baharampur, having won three consecutive terms from 2009 to 2019. Despite Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress being in power in Bengal since 2011, they have not yet won the Baharampur seat.

Baharampur Lok Sabha Election: Chowdhury's bastion
Chowdhury defeated TMC's Apurba Sarkar from the constituency in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls with a margin of 80,696 votes.
Though still a part of the Opposition bloc--INDIA, the TMC chose to go it alone in Bengal and announced candidates for all 42 Lok Sabha seats in the state.
The Congress and the Left Front have a seat-sharing arrangement in the state under which the Left parties contest 30 seats and the Congress contests the remaining 12 seats.
Baharampur Lok Sabha Election: Baharampur in 2014
In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the TMC dominated the state by winning 34 seats, while the BJP managed to secure only 2 seats. The CPI(M) and Congress won 2 and 4 seats, respectively.
West Bengal, which sends 42 MPs to Parliament, is participating in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections across seven phases. Polling for six seats took place in the first three phases on April 19, April 26, and May 7. The remaining seats will be contested on May 13, May 20, May 25, and June 1, with vote counting scheduled for June 4.
