'Aunt-nephew' govt in Bengal; Congress manifesto document of lies: PM Narendra Modi
Modi called Banerjee a ‘speed-breaker didi’, alleging her government prevented central projects from reaching people.

“Afspa is a protective shield for the soldiers so that they can act fearlessly. The document of lies released by Congress promised to remove the Army’s protective shield. Will it not demoralise our jawans? This will only help Pakistan. When we called ourselves chowkidars, in deference to those protecting our borders, Congress’ dynasts ridiculed us. They were so angry that they decided to remove the armour of our jawans. Their aim is to affect soldiers’ morale,” the PM alleged, adding that the “document of lies” had an expiry date of May 23.
Lambasting Banerjee he said: “There are some political parties born out of Congress who have questioned the Army and the Indian Air Force and termed the achievement of scientists of shooting down a satellite as drama. These people always have vested interests. This is why didi is speaking anti-national words.”
Addressing another rally in Siliguri, earlier in the day, Modi called Banerjee a ‘speed-breaker didi’, alleging her government prevented central projects from reaching people. “All central projects are slow in Bengal. I can’t work with the same pace in Bengal as I do with other states. There is a speed breaker. People in Bengal call her didi. She has slammed the brakes on development projects. It’s a conspiracy,” Modi alleged.
