“People will evaluate five years of the BJP government and two years of the Uttar Pradesh government while exercising their vote, " said Akhilesh Yadav.
FAIZABAD: Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav may have stopped kar sevaks in their tracks in 1990, but his son and party chief Akhilesh Singh Yadav backed BJP’s temple manifesto at a mammoth gathbandhan rally in Faizabad on Friday.

“BJP’s manifesto on Ayodhya is also on Samajwadis’ wishlist. The Ram Mandir can be constructed at the Ramjanmabhoomi site under the constitutional and legal framework,” he said.

Reacting to Masood Azhar being declared a global terrorist by the United Nations, Yadav said, “Azhar is the same person sent to Pakistan in a special flight by the NDA government. BJP should remember that if India has to embolden itself in the subcontinent, the leadership must be combative with China.”

Targeting the BJP brass over Pakistan, he said, “The party can invoke the fear of Pakistan, but can’t dare face China as Indian markets are flooded with Chinese products. Where’s BJP’s swadeshi slogan,” he asked.

“People will evaluate five years of the BJP government and two years of the Uttar Pradesh government while exercising their vote. Now, a new PM is needed from for new India. BJP has forgotten its 2014 promises. You have seen smart cities replete with garbage dumps and stray cattle everywhere. In Lucknow itself, stray cattle has killed 10 people and the story is the same in every district of UP. We will develop Ayodhya-Faizabad as a world class city,” he said.

“When PM Modi went to Ambedkar Nagar, he remembered socialist icon Ram Manohar Lohia, but while Lohia tried to bridge the gap between communities, BJP is indulging in politics of hate,” he said.
