In Telangana, eight Lok Sabha candidates have disclosed family assets exceeding Rs 100 crore, with K Vishweshawar Reddy, the BJP contender from Chevella, leading with Rs 4,568 crore.
Notably, the top three wealthiest candidates are all vying for the Chevella Lok Sabha seat. Ranjit Reddy, the Congress candidate from Chevella, ranks second with family assets valued at Rs 435.33 crore, including Rs 23 crore in liabilities. His family has Rs 294.33 crore worth movable assets while immovable at Rs 141 crore.
The third candidate from Chevella, Kasani Gyaneshwar of BRS holds the third position in the wealth ranking with his family assets totaling Rs 228.46 crore.
Moving on to other constituencies, K Madhavi Latha, the BJP candidate from Hyderabad, has declared family assets worth Rs 218.38 crore, with liabilities amounting to Rs 27 crore. Madhavi Latha is pitted against AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi and Congress' Sameer Waliullah.
In Khammam, Nama Nageswara Rao of BRS reported family assets worth Rs 155.89 crore. BB Patil, the BJP candidate from Zahirabad, possesses assets totaling Rs 151.68 crore, while Kamy Mallesh, contesting on the BRS ticket from Zahirabad, declared assets worth Rs 145.33 crore.
The upcoming elections for the 17 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana are scheduled for May 13, with the nomination deadline closing on Thursday. Candidates have until April 29 to withdraw their nominations.
