This has led to a situation where prospective and hopeful candidates are doing low-key campaigning. Narwekar has been travelling throughout the constituency and meeting locals and holding small meetings without much fanfare. The Mumbai South seat has been sought by the Shiv Sena, with CM Eknath Shinde keen on giving the seat to its Rajya Sabha MP Milind Deora, who was an MP from the constituency from 2004 and 2009. Narwekar is not the only one doing a low key campaign. In Nashik, Shiv Sena (Shinde) MP Hemant Godse is also doing a low key campaign, meeting people and holding meetings. The Shiv Sena (Shinde) has not been able to announce Godse's name for the seat as the BJP has promised the NCP that its candidate will contest the polls. This arrangement is, however, being resisted by the Shiv Sena.
