Sitting Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna, accused of sexually abusing several women, has given his first response on the matter on Wednesday and has said that the truth will prevail.

"As I am not in Bangalore to attend the enquiry, I have communicated to C.I.D Bangalore through my Advocate. Truth will prevail soon," he said in a post on X.

Revanna, on Tuesday, was also suspended from the Janata Dal (Secular) over his alleged involvement in the 'obscene videos' case.

A decision in this regard was taken at the party's core committee meeting, which recommended the suspension of the MP, who is facing an SIT probe in the said case.

Prajwal Revanna was charged in a case of alleged sexual harassment on April 28 after receiving complaints from his former housekeeper. The case was filed under sections 354A, 354D, 506, and 509 of the IPC for offenses related to sexual harassment, intimidation, and violation of a woman's dignity.

According to the complaint, the victim alleges that both Prajwal Revanna and his father, HD Revanna, sexually assaulted her. Furthermore, the complainant stated that when Revanna's wife was not at home, he inappropriately touched her and engaged in sexual assault.

The Karnataka government has constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the alleged obscene video case against MP Revanna. The Special Investigation Team (SIT), led by IPS officer Vijay Kumar Singh, along with DG CID Suman D Pennekar and IPS officer Seema Latkar, has commenced the investigation into the case.

Revanna and his father, HD Revanna, who is also a JD(S) MLA, were charged by the police on Sunday for sexual harassment and criminal intimidation following a complaint from a woman who worked in their household.
