In a strange incident in Karnataka, Arun Varnekar, a staunch supporter of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, carried out a startling act of devotion by chopping off his left forefinger.

Varnekar, recognized for his steadfast admiration for PM Modi, constructed a shrine dedicated to him within his residence in Karwar city. Following the sacrifice, he inscribed a message in blood on his walls, seeking the protection of PM Modi from Goddess Kali.

Expressing his unwavering belief in PM Modi's leadership, whom he reverently refers to as 'Modi baba', Varnekar proclaimed his conviction that PM Modi will secure a third term as Prime Minister, stating, 'Modi baba sabse mahan'.

He credited PM Modi's leadership for the cessation of conflicts with China and Pakistan and the prevailing peace in Kashmir. Varnekar, formerly employed in the Mumbai film industry, now resides in Karwar, where he cares for his elderly mother.

Unmarried, Varnekar's extreme display of devotion is not unprecedented; during the 2019 elections, he made a similar attempt at sacrifice, albeit unsuccessful.

This time, however, he succeeded in his act of devotion, attracting attention for its unconventional nature, which reflects his profound faith in PM Modi's leadership for the nation's progress.

“This is madness. Instead of doing such things, he must tell people about Modi’s achievements. Even Modi will be happy,” said Jagadish Naik, a BJP worker from Karwar.

Nanda Kishore, a local BJP leader, expressed, “This is really shocking. I appeal to youngsters not to indulge in such acts. We all want Modi to win. You can show your love for Modi in a manner that is appreciated by others. But not this way.”
