‘Karnataka is ATM for Congress’, says Annamalai, teams up with Tejasvi Surya to campaign in Bengaluru South
Surya will defend his seat against Congress’ candidate Sowmya Reddy as the region, along with 13 other constituencies in Karnataka, go to the polls on Friday.
Annamalai, who contested the LS polls from Coimbatore last Friday, urged voters to choose Surya, saying “In these ten years, PM Modi's government has given good schemes for Bengaluru…since Surya has represented Bangalore South in the Lok Sabha, many projects have come to to the city.” Surya will defend his seat against Congress’ candidate Sowmya Reddy as the region, along with 13 other constituencies in Karnataka, go to the polls on Friday.
Slamming the Congress government, Annamalai accused them of using Karnataka as its “ATM”, saying “They are bleeding the state dry. A state which was in revenue surplus before former CM Bommai left office, has become a revenue deficit now. People are clear and the same mistake will not be made again. All 28 seats BJP-NDA alliance will sweep in Karnataka.”
Law and order, he added, was another point of concern, as the Congress was involved with “appeasement politics.” He attacked the government for its handling of the Neha Hiremath case, saying, “What happened in Hubli is not only distressing but extremely worrying. This is a shameless attitude. He is a congress corporator.”
Surya, who began the day with Tamil Nadu BJP leader in Bengaluru Cafe, was all praise for ‘Singham’ Annamalai, saying his work as DCP of Bengaluru South was still remembered by the people. “Appeasement politics and vote bank politics have cost the nation. It is time that Congress learns its lesson or people will teach it a lesson,” he said.
