Election officials in Karnataka have lodged a complaint against BJP veteran BS Yediyurappa's son BY Raghavendra for violating the Model Code of Conduct in Chitradurga.

According to the FIR, Raghavendra, who is the sitting MP from Shivamogga, visited the Bhovi Gurpeeth in Chitradurga on Saturday and campaigned for the BJP, "misusing" the religious place for political purposes. He made a speech, saying the upcoming Lok Sabha election would be a Dharma Yudh (religious war) between pro-nationals and anti-nationals.

Raghavendra is also the BJP's candidate for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from Shivamogga.
