Documents Required for Voting:
The Election Commission has mandated that all voters possessing an EPIC (Electors Photo Identity Card) must present it as identification at the polling booth. Alternatively, individuals whose names appear in the voters' list but are unable to produce their EPIC can furnish one of the approved identity documents for verification. These include:
- Passport
- Driving licence
- Aadhaar card
- Service identity cards with photographs issued by central/state government PSUs/public limited companies
- Passbooks with photographs issued by a bank/post office
- MNREGA job card
- PAN card
- Smart card issued by RGI under NPR
- Health insurance smart card issued under the labour ministry scheme
- Pension document with photograph
- Official identity cards issued to MPs/MLAs/MLCs
Metro Services Update:
Namma Metro Services in Bengaluru will be extended beyond the scheduled time of 11.55 pm to 00.35 am on April 27 in view of the upcoming Lok Sabha polls scheduled to take place on April 26. The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited announced this extension to ensure that voters can avail of metro services even after polling hours.
"In view of the Lok Sabha Election 2024 held in Bengaluru on April 26, 2024, Namma Metro is extending its last Train services from all its four seminal stations, viz., Nagasandra, Silk Institute, Challaghatta, and Whitefield (Kadugod) at 23.55 hrs (11.55 pm)," Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited said in a release.
