Violence in Kokrajhar during third phase of Lok Sabha elections
Clashes in Kokrajhar during the third phase of polling resulted in injuries. Assam Chief Minister lauded the overall peaceful conduct of elections.

There is a fierce contest between the two regional parties for the seat. Polling across the other seats in Assam was peaceful. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had expressed satisfaction over the peaceful conduct of the elections, asserting that the third phase proceeded without any reported instances of violence or disturbances across the state.
Four seats of Assam went to polls on Tuesday. BJP’s ally Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) is contesting in Barpeta and Dhubri seat.
BJP’s ally UPPL has fielded Joyanta Basumatary as the candidate for Kokrajhar (ST) Lok Sabha constituency in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
The BPF has fielded Kampa Borgoyary from the Kokrajhar seat. BPF maintains equidistance from Congress and BJP alliances but maintains floor co ordination with BJP in state assembly.
The ruling BJP is contesting 11 parliamentary constituencies in the state, leaving two seats for its key ally, AGP, and one seat for UPPL. Elections to 10 Lok Sabha seats in Assam took place in the first two phases.
