Turnout falls in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana & Uttrakhand

Among nine bigger states in the first phase, voter turnout fell in seven. In the second phase, among large states, voting percentage fell in four and rose in as many states. Overall the dip in phase 1 and phase 2 is only slight and could be revised upwards when final figures are released. Voting percentage fell in all four where LS elections are over -- Andhra Pradesh 0.70 percentage point, Uttarakhand 1.78, Tamil Nadu 1.86 and Telengana 6.48 percentage points. Here’s a snapshot
