In India's Royal State, Tonk-sawai Madhopur Lok Sabha constituency which comprises assembly constituencies such as Khandar (sc), Sawai Madhopur, Deoli-uniara, Bamanwas(st), Malpura, Niwai (sc), Gangapur, and Tonk is all ready to undergo polling for the 18th Lok Sabha polls on Friday.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, it recorded a voter turnout of 63.21%, with 9 candidates in the fray.

The constituency has been included in the second phase. The date for the voting of people in this constituency will be April 26.

Tonk-sawai Madhopur Lok Sabha Election: 2024 Candidates
During the Congress Central Election Committee meeting, Harish Meena was finalized as the party's candidate for the Tonk Sawai Madhopur parliamentary constituency, among others in Rajasthan and Uttarakhand. The candidate of the grand old party will clash against BJP's Sukhbir Singh Jaunapuria.

Incumbent MP Sukhbir Singh Jaunapuria of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won the previous election with a significant margin of 1,11,291 votes, defeating Namonarayan of the Indian National Congress (INC). Jaunapuria received 6,44,319 votes and is the current MP representing Tonk-sawai Madhopur.

In 2014 as well, BJP's Sukhbir Singh Jaunapuria emerged victorious from the Tonk-Sawai Madhopur Lok Sabha seat and secured 5,48,179 votes (52.6 per cent) while Congress' Mohammad Azharuddin secured 4,12,868 votes (39.6 per cent).

The total votes cast were 12,33,458, with 7 male candidates and 1 female candidate contesting.
