Kirron Kher
Bollywood actor-turned-politician Kirron Kher believes her work in the city and the Modi government’s achievements like the air strikes in Balakot will help her overcome the challenge of Congress again. Excerpts of her interview with ET:

On Sam Pitroda’s statement
It is disgraceful. The insensitive statement exposes the mindset of Congress.

On monorail
Monorail is more suited for a small city like Chandigarh while metro is meant for bigger cities. Metro cost is exorbitant. Bansal could not bring metro project even when he was a railway minister.

On Nitin Gadkari’s skybus proposal
Skybus project is being mooted by the surface transport ministry and would supplement the monorail project.

On the accusation of being absent
The only time I left the city was for four months to attend Parliament session. In fact, Bansal spends most of his time in Delhi and it is his family that covers up for his absence.

On contest with a Congress veteran
It is an advantage as Bansal has little to show for his achievement in the last several tenures. I had spent a part of his pending MPLAD fund.

On anti-incumbency
I relish a pro-incumbency due to my achievements. I augmented the city’s water supply from Bhakra barrage to ensure 24-hour water supply.
