Tamilisai Soundararajan resigns as Telangana governor; likely to contest in Lok Sabha elections with BJP ticket
Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan is expected to resign from Raj Bhavan, eyeing a BJP candidacy in the Lok Sabha elections from Central Chennai or Puducherry.

PTI reported citing an official statement that Tamilisai Soundararajan has resigned as the Telangana governor.
Sources within the Raj Bhavan have indicated that Soundararajan is poised to enter the fray of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, potentially as a BJP candidate from either Central Chennai or Puducherry, ToI reported. Her interest in an active political role has been evident on multiple occasions and her potential resgnation as Telangana governor was specualted in recent days.
This development comes close on the heels of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent stay at the Raj Bhavan during his electoral campaign in Telangana.
Meanwhile, veteran BJP leader and former Karnataka CM, DV Sadananda Gowda, is likely to quit the saffron party. He may contest in Lok Sabha elections from Mysuru, this time as a Congress candidate. As the 72-year-old leader marks his birthday today (Monday), the Congress leadership is reportedly in discussions with him. An official announcement regarding his candidacy is expected imminently.
If Gowda indeed decides to contest in Lok Sabha elections, he may fight against BJP's YCK Wadiyar in what promises to be a closely watched electoral battle.
