Tejaswini Ananth Kumar campaigns for Tejaswi Surya in Bengaluru South

Tejaswini Ananth Kumar, wife of the late union minister Ananth Kumar went on a door-to-door campaign in Mavalli area of Chikpet Assembly constituency on Friday morning appealing for votes for the Bengaluru South BJP candidate, Tejaswi Surva. She will also be visiting Jayangar Assembly constituency, too, on a similar campaign.

The Karnataka BJP had projected her as the BJP candidate for Bengaluru South, but in a surprising change on the last day of the filing of nomination, the party national leadership announced Survya's name, raising eyebrows and sparking resentment among sections of the BJP workers. Tejaswini, who heads the nonprofit Adamya Chetana, however, took the setback in her stride saying the nation and the party came before self, and she would be as committed to the BJP's cause as ever.

The party later appointed her as Vice President of Karnataka Unit. Tejaswini's active participation in the campaigning on Friday with an appeal to vote for the party to bring back Prime Minister Narendra Modi again is expected to put at rest all speculations around her. She also tweeted her campaign pictures.


She had also appeared along with BJP national president Amit Shah, when he recently visited Bengaluru to participate in a road show in Banashankari.
