Lok Sabha polls 2024: SP releases fifth list of candidates in UP; Dharmendra Yadav to fight from Azamgarh

Samajwadi Party (SP) has released the fifth list of its candidates in Uttar Pradesh for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on Saturday, March 16.

Dharmendra Yadav will contest from Azamgarh. Earlier, in the third list, which was released on February 20th, SP had replaced Dharmendra Yadav with Shivpal Yadav in Badaun.

The Samajwadi Party on Friday declared six of its candidates from Uttar Pradesh for the upcoming polls.

The six candidates are Yashveer Singh (Bijnor), Manoj Kumar (Nagina), Bhanu Pratap Singh (Meerut), Bijendra Singh (Aligarh), Jasveer Valmiki (Hathras) and Daroga Saroj (Lalganj), the party said on X.



The SP gave the Bhadohi Lok Sabha seat to the Trinamool Congress.

Last month, in the midst of discussions regarding seat-sharing with the Congress party, the Samajwadi Party (SP) had unveiled another list of 11 candidates for the Lok Sabha elections. Among the notable inclusions in the latest list was Afzal Ansari, the brother of the notorious gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari, who had been nominated as a candidate from Ghazipur constituency. Additionally, Harendra Singh Malik had been nominated to represent the party from Muzaffarnagar.
