Sarbananda Sonowal hails Dibrugarh voters for reposing faith in Modi

Guwahati: Union minister Sarbananda Sonowal said the people of Dibrugarh Lok Sabha Constituency has once again reposed their invaluable trust in my candidature and to work towards development under the inspiring leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Sonowal former Assam chief minister took oath on Sunday as the minister in the NDA government said, "The people of Dibrugarh Lok Sabha Constituency has once again reposed their invaluable trust in my candidature and to work towards development under the inspiring leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji. I thank each voter of the constituency for participating in this festival of democracy and for their immense love and faith in my abilities as the son of the soil to go on to represent them in the Lok Sabha and work for the welfare of the people. "

He added, "Let me reiterate my resolve to work towards regaining the glory of Dibrugarh as we keep our march towards a ‘Viksit Bharat’. Student leader turned politician Sonowal is currently a cabinet minister of the central government. During the 2014-2016 period, he was a minister of state in the first Narendra Modi government and held various ministries, before becoming the first chief minister of Assam from the party in 2016.

Sonowal was an MLA (2001) and Lok Sabha MP (2004) of the AGP. He left AGP and joined BJP in 2011. Sonowal has thrice won assembly polls, two-time Lok Sabha member and one-time Rajya Sabha member
