Rahul Gandhi on Lok Sabha Results: People have given a clear message to PM Modi 'We do not want you'
In a press briefing on Tuesday, Rahul Gandhi said that people correlate "Modiji directly to Adani ji" after Congress party performed significantly better this time than it did in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

"If Modi loses, the stock market says Modi is gone so Adani is gone. There is a direct relationship of corruption between them," he said.

The INDIA alliance and Congress didn't just contest this election against a political party, but this election was fought against BJP, governance structure, intelligence agencies, CBI, ED and half judiciary, said the Congress MP.

Congress said that it humbly accepts the people's verdict and the results are a big setback for PM Modi and the BJP.

"The election results are 'Janta ka result'...It is clear this mandate is against Modi ji. This is his moral and political defeat," said Congress president Mallikarjun.

Kharge said, "Till we don't talk to our alliance partners and the new partners who are going to ally with them, we will talk to them as well and see how we can make majority. If I say all the strategies here, Modiji will become clever."

Calling the result a "victory of democracy," Kharge said, the government tried everything to stifle INDIA bloc.

"We had been saying that this battle is between public and Modi. This time, the public did not complete majority to any one party, especially, the ruling party BJP sought votes on the basis of 'one person, one face'. This is their political and moral defeat," he added.

Our fight has not reached its end, we still have to fight, he added.

With Adani Ports, billionaire Gautam Adani's cash cow, leading the downside with 20% crash, shares of all 10 Adani Group companies on Tuesday fell as the counting of votes for the Lok Sabha elections showed that PM Modi may not win as many seats as expected in the exit polls.

While the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) struggles to cross the 300-seat mark in the Lok Sabha election results today, it seems hard for the BJP to reach the majority mark of 272 on its own. If it gets to form the next government, it will be with the help of its allies, chiefly Chandrababu Naidu's TDP, which is currently ahead in 16 seats in Andhra Pradesh and Nitish Kumar's JD(U) which is ahead on 14 seats in Bihar, as of now.
