The Sampigehalli police intervened and took the protesters into custody as they raised pro-Modi slogans and asked Gandhi to leave the venue. Gandhi was at the tech park to address a gathering of startup entrepreneurs. The BJP claimed the people who were taken into custody were all techies.
KPCC president Dinesh Gundurao, in a statement, condemned the protests and said a desperate BJP, intolerant of the success of the Congress event, attempted to disrupt Gandhi's event. The BJP, he said, lacked the culture to extend courtesy to Opposition leaders and attempted to bring bad name to the Congress.
