Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday slammed Congress during his visit to West Bengal's Jalpaiguri over the recent comment on Kashmir by Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge and said "Kashmir is India's pride" and son of Bengal, Shyma Prasad Mukherjee, sacrificed his life for Kashmir. Kharge had questioned the 'relevance' of the PM raising Jammu and Kashmir in other parts of the country.

"Congress president has raised an issue: Why does Modi speak about Kashmir in other states? Kashmir is the pride of India and soldiers from all over the country have sacrificed their lives for Kashmir. Shyma Prasad Mukherjee is son of Bengal and sacrificed his life for Kashmir. To establish peace in Kashmir, so many mothers lost their sons in Kashmir," he said, adding: "Congress' divisive attitude comes out with this statement."

He targeted Trinamool for attacking central probe agencies when they were investigating in Bengal. "Trinamool allowed its 'tolabaz' and 'corrupt leaders' to get free licence to commit crime and terror. When central probe agencies come to Bengal, TMC attacks them... Trinamool is a party which undermines law and Constitution," he said.

The PM said he will seek legal advice and try to return the money to the poor people from the properties attached by ED in Bengal. "Poor people gave money to become teacher. I want to return them to the poor who gave money after the polls. I am taking legal opinion on this."

He again raised the Sandeshkhali issue and demanded stringent punishment for the culprits and slammed Trinamool for its 'syndicate raj'. The PM alleged that the Trinamool government stops various developmental works undertaken by the Centre. He said that the situation of the tea garden is precarious and workers there live in abject poverty.

CLAIMS ON INDIA BLOC

Modi took digs at the INDIA bloc in Bihar's Nawada. "Yesterday in Delhi somebody informed me (about INDIA bloc).... INDI Alliance is not visible in the election campaign and is inactive, so I made enquiries why this is so. By the way, one of their leaders said we are very idle, and do not want to do much. I was told that in the INDI Alliance there is a storm going on for the last 15 days... The reason is that one leader of INDI Alliance is adamant that unless he is declared the PM candidate he will not go out for any election campaign. This is the state of the alliance."
