Claiming the Prime Minister Narendra Modi will come to power in the coming 2024 Lok Sabha Election, Leader of Opposition in West Bengal assembly Suvendu Adhikari said the coming Lok Sabha polls is a poll to bring back Modi as PM again.

“We have seen what happened in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. We don’t want our country to turn to Ukraine, Gaza or any other troubled zones. Modi hyay to mumkin hyi. (Modi is there, it is possible),” Adhikari said.

Bharatiya Janata Party is organizing an outreach program cum conference in North Bengal after they were denied permission for space for an open air public rally. BJP’s rally coincided with that of Trinamool Supremo’s programme in Siliguri’s stadium.

“North Bengal has been deprived from development. Mamata Banerjee makes false promises in North Bengal and uses this as her destination for travel,” Adhikari said.

North Bengal is the main focus of Trinamool Congress for long after BJP received substantial seats in 2021 assembly polls and prior to that in Lok Sabha polls. Trinamool National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee had kicked off their Nabo Jowar outreach campaign from North Bengal’s Coochbehar.

Following West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s five-day long public rallies, outreach programme, campaign and administrative meetings, BJP leadership planned a programme today in Siliguri.

Adhikari claimed that Mamata Banerjee comes to North Bengal for her own tourism purpose.

“There is not a neuro-surgeon or cardiologist in North Bengal. No medical colleges have been in the region during Banerjee’s regime,” Adhikari said, adding the health sector’s condition is precarious in North Beng

“Cha Sundori has been transformed into a house but there are no takers. Chief Minister wore dress of tea garden workers and plucked tea leaves. But actually no tea garden functions in winter. You have come to the Kurseong to actually attend a wedding and stayed in an expensive suite for four days,” Adhikari claimed.

She talks about “Ma, Mati Manush” and says that she does not take salary but she stayed in the Presidential suite during her family’s wedding, Adhikari claimed adding that “Banerjee is corrupt and the one who pursues “Parivarbaad” and does appeasement politics.”

“The people of North Bengal have already abandoned you. When I was in Trinamool, I came to Bengal. Nepali people told me that she comes to North Bengal for travel. No developmental work has been done here. You (Mamata) will not be able to win in the North Bengal region,” Adhikari said.
