Mamata Banerjee to party workers: 'In Trinamool, we believe in serving the people and not yourself'
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee warned the party workers to avoid any kind of discord and work together for people and said that she will not allow any kind of discord.

“We appeal all to come out and work together. I will not allow any discord at the local level. You must love the party first and serve the people, not oneself. The organization must be the priority,” she said. She directed her party leaders and party workers to stay with the people throughout the year, travel to the districts, visit the villages and try to understand people's problems,” Banerjee instructed as she was speaking at a programme in North 24 Parganas' Chakla.

“In Trinamool, we believe in serving the people and not yourself. Trinamool is a family of the people. No one can think he is a senior/big leader and not value others,” she said. “I am thankful to every worker here, be it the new ones or the veteran leaders. Also, if someone is disheartened due to some local issues and fights, I would ask to call that leader back. I will not allow any internal tussle within the party.”

She said that she has to work all 365 days for the people. “One has to remember that an individual cannot decide if he is a big leader or not. It is the people who will decide. Those who work round the year and stand by the people in their bad days,” she said

“We have started Duare Sarkar and worked for the state. At the Panchayat level, I would ask the persons working to expedite the work and develop a relationship with the people in their respective districts. Travel across the district and find out the issues of the people. We have schemes like - Swasthya Sathi, Lakshmir Bhandar, Saboojshree, Kanyashree, Shikshashree, Sabooj Saathi, and so on,” she said.

Banerjee lashed out at BJP and “They [BJP] call everyone thieves, but in reality, they are the leaders of the biggest dacoits. …If someone is in the BJP, they are clean because of their 'washing machine'. But if someone is in Trinamool, they will be thrown behind the bars. They are asking all leaders to be behind bars.”

“They are running a 'democracy of central agencies'. Also, their (BJP) leaders are heard saying 'increase the arrests'. But they should know that they will not be in power forever. Why so much arrogance?” Banerjee said.

She expressed her grievance over the arrest of Trinamool minister Jyotipriya Mallick. “They have arrested Balu [Jyoti Priya Mallick] so that he cannot do organisational work during the elections. Taking advantage of this, CPI(M), Congress, and BJP have all set out together and are organizing rallies daily and calling us thieves,” she said.
