New Delhi: Taking on opposition parties for making personal attacks against PM Narendra Modi, defence minister Rajnath Singh on Monday said that more the mud they throw, more the lotus will bloom.

Speaking at rallies in Tamil Nadu, Singh took on the INDIA bloc, saying that debates on the government's policies are welcome but its intentions cannot be questioned. "The INDI alliance has persistently launched personal attacks on the PM. However, they appear to forget that the more mud they throw, the more the lotus will bloom. The INDI alliance hasn't hesitated to insult the Hindu faith, even going as far as stating their intent to destroy the 'Shakti' within it," Singh said, charging the opposition of insulting Hindu deities and the women of India, going beyond just opposing the BJP.

Speaking on development initiatives of the government, Singh said that while India ranked 11th globally in terms of economy in 2014, it is now among the top five. "Previously, tanks, missiles, and artillery were imported from other countries, but now all these items are being produced in India. Currently, India ranks among the selective countries with 5G mobile connectivity, and the PM has launched initiatives for 6G connectivity," he said.
