Lok Sabha polls: BJP releases its 3rd list of candidates; minister L Murugan to contest from Nilgris in Tamil Nadu

Union Minister L Murugan has been fielded from Nilgris in Tamil Nadu, K Annamalai will contest from Coimbatore, and Tamilisai Soundararajan will battle it out from the Chennai South seat.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday released the third list of its candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The 9-member list features Union Minister L Murugan and state BJP chief K Annamalai.

Union Minister L Murugan has been fielded from Nilgris in Tamil Nadu and K Annamalai will contest from Coimbatore. Meanwhile Tamilisai Soundararajan will battle it out from the Chennai South seat.

BJP’s second list of candidates, which was released on March 13 included three former Chief Ministers, nine Union Ministers, two Rajya Sabha MPs and 15 women. Meanwhile, the first list of candidates wasreleased on March 2 included 195 candidates, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, 34 Union Ministers and Ministers of State and two former chief ministers.
