Mumbai, March 23 (IANS) The Congress on Saturday named four more candidates in Maharashtra in its fourth list of 45 nominees for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
Congress on Wednesday night announced 14 more Lok Sabha candidates including four from Uttar Pradesh. Virendra Chaudhary is fielded from Maharajganj, where Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate was the party candidate in 2019 polls. The entry of Chaudhary coincides with Shrinate courting controversy over a derogatory social post from her handle against Kangana Ranaut. . It remains to be seen whether she will be fielded from elsewhere.

While the party is yet to announce the candidates for Rae Bareli and Amethi amid indication the CEC will rather leave it to the Gandhi family to decide whether Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra should contest from these two family seats -- as desired by AICC screening committee and UP PCC -, the party announced Nakul Dubey from Sitapur, Dolly Sharma from Ghaziabad and Shivam Valmiki from Bulandshahr-SC seats. The Congress fielded Rao Yadvendra Singh from Guna against BJP's Jyotiraditya Scindia.
