won the Indore Lok Sabha seat of Madhya Pradesh with a margin of 10.08 lakh votes in biggest victory of any BJP candidate in Madhya Pradesh.
Interestingly, NOTA remained at the second position with over two lakh. Congress' nominee from Indore, Akshay Kanti Bam withdrew his nomination papers at the last minute. In the absence of a candidate from Congress, it was a walk-over for Shankar Lalwani and BJP in Indore.
The Congress supporters had campaigned for NOTA during the election. The BJP has been retaining the Indore seat since 1989. Before Lalwani, BJP member Sumitra Mahajan, who also served as Speaker of the Lok Sabha from 2014 to 2019, held the position for an exceptional eight consecutive terms.

Victory by smallest margin
In what could be victory by smallest margin, Ravindra Waikar of the Shiv Sena has won by 48 votes against Amol Kirtikar of UBT in Mumbai northwest seat.The poll panel has released the results for all Lok Sabha constituencies. The BJP secured 240 out of 543 seats, while the Congress has bagged 99 seats. The final result came from the Beed constituency in Maharashtra, where NCP (Sharad Pawar) candidate Bajrang Manohar Sonwane narrowly defeated BJP's Pankaja Munde by 6,553 votes. Though the Lok Sabha has 543 members, counting was conducted for 542 seats as BJP's Surat candidate Mukesh Dalal was elected unopposed.
