Karnataka: BJP state executive committee gears up for LS polls, holds inaugural meet in Bengaluru

“People of Karnataka, who value their historical culture as well as Information & Technology, are fully behind Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s promise of a Viksit Bharat (developed India) that also values its Virasat (heritage),” Yadav said.
This was the first such meeting being held after Vijayendra took over as the BJP state president and a new team of party state office-bearers was formed. BJP workers, Vijayendra said, should not take its opponents lightly, put its achievements in front of the people and work day and night for the victory of the party.
“There is an atmosphere of celebration all over the country where millions of Hindus are celebrating the life of Lord Rama. In such an auspicious occasion, there is a BJP government at the center under the leadership of [Prime Minister Narendra] Modi, and in the last nine and a half years, it has put forward clear ideas and given good governance without allowing corruption,” he said. The Ram Temple in Ayodhya was consecrated on January 22.
Former CM Yediyurappa said that the Lok Sabha battle would be a turning point test for the party. “The Congress government, which came to power by misleading the people, is involved in [internal] conflict. Due to their quarrels, the power structure has collapsed and corruption is rampant in the state,” he said.
The Lingayat veteran also welcomed Jagadish Shettar back into the party, saying his return would give the BJP a big boost. Shettar, on Thursday, resigned his post as a Congress MLC and rejoined the saffron party, less than a year after leaving it over a tiff about not getting an assembly ticket during the polls last May. The six-time MLA and former CM has openly acknowledged that the Yediyurappa-Vijayendra duo played a huge role in his return to the party.
