Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has taken a strict stance against MLA Lobin Hembram from Borio, expelling him from the party for six years. This decision comes after Lobin Hembram decided to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha General Elections 2024 from the Rajmahal Lok Sabha constituency as an independent candidate, going against the party's coalition discipline and allegedly misleading party workers.

'In response to your actions, which are considered to be against the coalition discipline, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has decided to expel you from all positions within the party and revoke your primary membership for the next six years, if applicable. This decision is based on information gathered from various public dialogue platforms and social media, which indicate that you are contesting the upcoming Lok Sabha General Elections 2024 from the Rajmahal Lok Sabha constituency and have been attempting to mislead party workers,' read the official letter.

Lobin Hembram, the MLA from the Borio Vidhan Sabha constituency, had expressed his desire to contest from the Rajmahal Lok Sabha seat, which led to a conflict with the party leadership. Despite the party's confidence in the current MP Vijay Hansda, Lobin Hembram filed his nomination as an independent candidate, displaying a rebellious attitude.

Long-standing Discontent
Lobin Hembram's discontent with the JMM leadership had been brewing for some time, especially evident during the confidence vote for Hemant Soren. There were speculations about Lobin joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), but he chose to contest as an independent candidate instead.

Party's Firm Stance
JMM has not only expelled Lobin Hembram but has also taken action against other senior leaders who have gone against the party's interests in the Lok Sabha elections. MLA Chamra Linda from Vishunpur has been suspended for contesting independently from the Lohardaga Lok Sabha seat. Similarly, former MLA Basant Launga has been expelled for contesting independently from the Khunti Lok Sabha seat. Additionally, former MLA JP Verma has filed his nomination as an independent candidate from the Koderma Lok Sabha seat.
