Jharkhand: Former CM Hemant Soren's sister-in-law and MLA Sita Soren joins BJP
Sita Soren, the Jama legislator from the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), resigned from her post and the party on Tuesday. She subsequently joined the Bharatiya Janata Party.

The daughter-in-law of party supremo Shibu Soren, Sita alleged that she was being sidelined by JMM leadership and that the party had failed to adequately support her following the passing of her husband Durga Soren.

Durga Soren is the brother of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, who is currently in prison in connection with an Enforcement Directorate case.

"I have become aware of a conspiracy being orchestrated against me and my family... I am left with no choice but to tender my resignation," Sita Soren said while tendering her resignation. She added that she was taking the decision 'reluctantly.'

Sita voiced her disappointment, indicating a deviation from the party's core values by accommodating people whose principles do not align with its ethos.
