Ahead of crucial third phase polls on May 7, Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that people in areas like Dhing come out in large number to vote and voting percentage is to the tune 90 percent and areas inhabited by indigenous people the voting percentage remains freeze at 75%.

Sarma while addressing the party's rally in Palasbari in Guwahati constituency said, "There is over 90 percent polling in constituencies like Dhing and Rupohihat. Whereas in constituencies like Palasbari, Jalukbari, Chaygaon places resided by Assamese/indigenous people voting percentage remains at 75 percent."

Dhing and Rupohihat are part of Nagaon Lok Sabha constituency and Muslim minority is the majority vote. Chaygaon, Palasbari, Jalukbari are part of Lok Sabha segment in Guwahati parliamentary seat which will go to polls on May 7.


He said, "Our people take the voting day as the holiday, people prioritize cooking, washing, taking children for haircuts and then will go to vote. It should first vote and eat later. Votes must be cast early in the morning. If Palasbari pledged that there will be 90 percent polling, our candidate from Guwahati Bijuli Kalita Medhi will win over 5 lakh votes".
