Bhopal: Actor and former Congress MP Govinda met CM Kamal Nath at the state secretariat on Friday. Though the Congress claimed it was a courtesy visit without any political agenda, the meeting sparked speculation of Govinda contesting LS elections from MP.

The Congress denied the claims, saying there was no talk of Govinda contesting from any seat of MP. PCC media committee chairperson Shobha Oza, who accompanied the actor, said Govinda would campaign for the party, but there is no talk of him contesting elections.

Party leaders said Govinda has been close to Nath for long and had campaigned for him in Chhindwara as well. He would be used by the party for campaigning in state in LS polls. CM’s close confident RK Miglani said Govinda is a friend of CM and came to meet in the same capacity. Nothing more should be read out of the meeting, he added.
