According to the Election Commission data from the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, Gautam Buddha Nagar had 23,02,960 voters, comprising 12,68,324 males, 10,34,503 females, and 133 voters identifying as the third gender. The constituency saw 3,297 postal votes and 5,482 service voters. In 2014, the voter count stood at 19,86,109, with 11,05,732 males and 8,80,377 females, alongside 971 postal votes and 2,957 service voters.

In the 2019 elections, Dr. Mahesh Sharma secured victory with a remarkable margin, polling 8,30,812 votes and a vote share of 59.64%. His closest contender, BSP's Satveer Nagar, garnered 4,93,890 votes (35.45%). In the 2014 polls, Dr. Sharma emerged victorious for the first time with 5,99,702 votes and a 50.00% vote share, defeating SP candidate Narendra Bhati by a margin of 2,80,212 votes.
