The voting for the crucial Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency in Gujarat took place on May 7, 2024. The seat has traditionally been a BJP stronghold for many years. The BJP has been winning this seat for more than 30 years, since 1989. The constituency has also seen high-profile candidates from LK Advani to Atal Bihari Vajpayee and now Amit Shah.
For the 2024 general elections, the BJP had renominated Amit Shah for the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha seat. In 2019, Shah won from the Gandhinagar constituency by defeating Congress candidate CJ Chavda by over 5 lakh votes.

Gandhinagar has been electing BJP candidates since 1989. In the 2019 polls, Amit Shah won from the Gandhinagar constituency by defeating Congress candidate CJ Chavda by over 5 lakh votes. Before Shah, LK Advani won the seat six times. In 2014, Advani defeated Congress' Kiritbhai Ishvarbhai Patel by over 4.8 lakh votes.
