Matter of Political Chemistry: Maximum concentration of Delhi Congress functionaries and foot soldiers can be spotted in Chandni Chowk, where party veteran JP Agarwal is fighting. While the leadership maintains that all its three candidates are in the reckoning, the enthusiasm among Congressmen for Agarwal is a combination of his kinship with Congress parivar and their emotional detachment with other two candidates - newbies Kanhaiya Kumar and Udit Raj. Incidentally, AAP's West Delhi candidate Mahabal Mishra, an ex-Congressman, still has an evident nostalgic connection with Congress workers.

Ready with Sharp Retorts: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray is known for his sharp retorts. Recently, after he voted in Mumbai, a journalist asked him whether women voters would be crucial in these polls. Thackeray, without batting an eyelid, said: “How would I know? I am not an astrologer.” He didn’t even answer when another journalist asked how important these elections were. “How important?” Thackeray retorted, looking at the journalist incredulously and walking away, shaking his head.

Courtroom Battle: Tremors of ever-increasing poll heat were felt in the Supreme Court on Tuesday noon. Vociferously arguing in favour of his client, the newly elected SC Bar Association president Kapil Sibal claimed that Hemant Soren has no connection with a disputed land (for which he has been arrested). ED’s counsel slyly quipped that Soren was planning to build a banquet hall on the said land. “Oh yes, for you!” retorted Sibal, calling it a figment of ED’s imagination.
