From helicopter fuel drama to opposition's extra efforts: Highlights from the campaign trail

Running out of fuel: Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar's helicopter ran out of fuel on Saturday. After campaigning for BJP's Patliputra candidate Ram Kripal Yadav in the vicinity of Patna, he was informed that the chopper had run out of fuel. The pilot told Kumar that amid the rush to reach different rallies on time, he forgot to refuel the tank. An enraged Nitish Kumar left for state capital Patna by road. The helicopter could fly only after an hour.

Properly fuelled up: With roadshows and big rallies done, BJP's humble foot soldiers or booth workers have taken charge of campaigning in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's constituency Varanasi. Amid rising temperature and dipping energy levels, BJP organised a 'baati-chokha' party at every booth on Sunday and Monday to 'fuel' party members for the final few days of this long-drawn election season.

Just a step ahead: Amid concerns over polling data, Opposition candidates are going the extra mile to do due diligence. After the conclusion of election in Bhadohi on May 25, AITC candidate Laliteshpati Tripathi announced that he has collected Form 17C from all booths and has computed the data of voting percentage. With a photo of multiple piles of Form 17C, he tagged ECI on X and said that it was now up to it to declare its side of calculation of the number of votes polled. Any major discrepancy would mean 'foul play'. Tripathi earned praises from social media users who asked other candidates to also follow suit.
