In a major relief for the makers of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's biopic, the Delhi High Court today rejected a PIL to stay the film's release.

The PIL was filed seeking a stay on the film 'PM Narendra Modi' considering the release date which comes at a time when the country is heading for general elections and the model code of conduct is in force.

The PIL sought the stay on the grounds that the release of the film during the model code of conduct will help in bolstering the image of PM Narendra Modi and influence the voters.

Similar PILs have been filed in the Allahabad High Court and the Bombay High Court as well.

The film is set for release on April 5, six days ahead of the first phase of polling.
