New Delhi, April 30 (IANS) Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has appointed former MLA Devendra Yadav as the interim president of the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC).
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Tuesday appointed Devender Yadav as the "interim president" of the party's Delhi unit. The appointment marked a provisional way of dealing with the mid-campaign crisis triggered by the abrupt resignation of Pradesh Congress Committee president Arvinder Singh Lovely in protest against Congress-AAP alliance and against the choice of new party members Kanhaiya Kumar and Udit Raj as Congress candidates in Delhi.

IPS officer joins Congress

Gurinder Singh Dhillon, an Indian Police Service officer of Punjab, who took voluntary retirement recently, joined Congress on Tuesday and said he was impressed by Rahul Gandhi's ideas. There is speculation about Dhillon being considered for the Ferozepur seat.
