BJP President JP Nadda said that Congress' policy was to isolate Northeast India and Prime minister Narendra Modi connected Northeast India with the rest of the country.

Addressing a rally here for NDA candidate Jayanta Basumatary, Nadda said, “Opposition parties are not concerned about the welfare of people. Congress believed in keeping Northeast India in isolation and ignorance. The government of Modi and Himanta Biswa Sarma have worked to ensure Northeast India is connected with the rest of India.”

He added, “Ten years ago when you visited Delhi, people asked which country you are from. But now integration is complete.”

Mentioning about the peace accord in Bodoland, Nadda said in the last ten years insurgent attacks and death of civilians have drastically come down. The coverage of AFSPA is reduced and there is no coverage of it in at least 70 percent of Northeast India.”

He asked the people that dark days of the past makes us appreciate the Good Days of present times.

Criticizing the opposition alliance, Nadda said, "Their scams ranged from the deep soils (coal) to space (5G) and everything in between. The opposition leaders are either out on bail or in jail," he said.
