Congress unveils 11th list of candidates for Lok Sabha elections, fields YS Sharmila from Kadapa

The Congress has released the 11th list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, naming 17. Mohammad Jawed and Tariq Anwar will contest from Bihar's Kishanganj and Katihar respectively.

The uncertainty regarding the prominent constituencies of Amethi and Raebareli persists.

YS Sharmila, Congress' Andhra Pradesh unit chief will fight from the Kadapa constituency. Congress has fielded former Union minister MM Pallam Raju from Andhra Pradesh's Kakinada. The Communist Party of India (CPI), Congress and CPI (M) are INDIA alliance partners in Andhra Pradesh.


Elections for the 175-member Assembly and 25 Lok Sabha seats in Andhra Pradesh are scheduled on May 13 and the counting of votes is slated for June 4.

The Congress party unveiled its list of candidates for eight constituencies in Odisha, five in Andhra Pradesh, three in Bihar, and one in West Bengal.

In Bihar, besides Anwar and Jawed, the party fielded MLA Ajeet Sharma from Bhagalpur. With this, the total number of candidates declared by the party so far is 228.
