Churu MP Rahul Kaswan resigns from BJP, joins Congress ahead of Lok Sabha elections
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Churu MP Rahul Kaswan wrote, "Due to political reasons, at this very moment today, I am resigning from the primary membership of the Bharatiya Janata Party and from the post of Member of Parliament."
Announcing his decision, Kaswan, who was denied ticket by the BJP for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, also expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party leaders for giving him the opportunity to represent Rajasthan's Churu as the MP twice.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), he wrote, "Due to political reasons, at this very moment today, I am resigning from the primary membership of the Bharatiya Janata Party and from the post of Member of Parliament."
"I express my gratitude to BJP national president J P Nadda, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah, who gave me the opportunity to serve the Churu Lok Sabha family for 10 years, " he said.
Meanwhile, he was welcomed by the Congress party president Mallikarjun Kharge. "I am here to thank and welcome Rahul Kaswan who has joined the Congress today. I am happy that he said he will raise farmers' issues and that he has joined the Congress to fight the feudal forces," ANI quoted Kharge as saying.
