China can't encroach India's land: Amit Shah
India rejected China's claims and said that Arunachal Pradesh was, is and will always be a part of India, and Beijing reiterating its false claims won't change the reality.
Addressing an election rally in Assam's Lakhimpur, Shah said the Congress belongs to that culture in which Jawaharlal Nehru bid farewell to Assam when China attacked. "The people of Assam cannot forget it. Now, what has changed? China cannot encroach on an inch of India's land. This kind of rule is given by Narendra Modiji. In Doklam, we stood firm against them for 45 days and forced them to retreat," he said.
Shah added that Assam is the hub of the northeast. The development of Assam and the northeast is related to the development of the nation. "We have a PM who has visited the northeast more than 70 times. Union ministers have visited northeast more than 700 times. It is time to give all the seats to the NDA. In Assam, we need to give at least 12 seats out of 14," he said while appealing to the people. Shah's address in Assam's Lakhimpur comes amid a war of words between New Delhi and Beijing over Arunachal Pradesh. China, which claims the frontier state as Zangnan, had protested against PM Modi's recent visit to the state to inaugurate Sela Tunnel and claimed the region as part of its territory.

During his address, the home minister added, "The Congress has written in its manifesto that it will establish the Muslim personal law. But our chief minister has banned child marriages, and in Uttarakhand, the Uniform Civil Code has been introduced. The Congress says that we should not have removed Article 370 from J&K. The Congress president asks what people of the rest of India have to do with Kashmir. He does not know that the people of India love every inch of our nation. When we were kids, we used to raise the slogan 'Kutch Ho Ya Guwahati. Apna Desh Apni Mati".
Later, Shah also held a roadshow in Tinsukia.
