BJP wants to give your jobs to illegal Pak, Bangladesh immigrants: Kejriwal on CAA

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today criticised the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for what he termed as "dirty vote bank politics" regarding the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). Kejriwal asserted that the implementation of the CAA before the Lok Sabha polls was a strategic move by the BJP to secure votes.

Kejriwal accused the BJP-led government of using the CAA to open avenues for the influx of poor minorities from Pakistan and Bangladesh into India. He claimed that this move was aimed at expanding the BJP's voter base by providing housing and employment opportunities to these migrants.

Highlighting the scale of potential migration, Kejriwal stated, "There are 3.5 crore minorities in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh. The BJP wants to spend the money of our people in settling poor migrants from Pakistan and Bangladesh by giving them houses and jobs here."

Kejriwal questions timing of CAA

The Delhi CM condemned the timing of the CAA's implementation, suggesting that it was driven by the BJP's electoral interests. He characterized the move as a form of "dirty vote bank politics," emphasizing the BJP's potential gains in future elections through the support of migrants settled under the CAA.

Kejriwal reiterated the public's demand for the repeal of the CAA, urging citizens to vote against the BJP if the law is not revoked. The CAA, which aims to grant citizenship to undocumented non-Muslim migrants from Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan who arrived in India before December 31, 2014, has been met with widespread criticism and protests across the country.
