Guwahati: With 18 leaders leaving the party ahead of the simultaneous Lok Sabha and assembly polls, Arunachal Pradesh Unit BJP president, Tapir Gao said that such desertion will have no impact in the party’s poll prospects.

The leaders have joined Conrad Sangma-led National People’s party (NPP). Those denied tickets include BJP’s state general secretary Jarpum Gamlin, state’s Home minister Kumar Waii and tourism minister minister Jarkar Gamlin besides six sitting MLAs.

“There will be zero effect of such desertion. BJP is contesting all the 60 assembly constituencies and two Lok Sabha seats. We have a target of winning all the seats and BJP’s mission is 60 plus two,” Gao said.
