BJP will win 303 seats in Lok Sabha polls: Piyush Goyal had predicted last year

Goyal said the survey was conducted in August-September, 2018, in which respondents were asked several question about the govt.

He said that he had conducted a similar survey in 2013, in which he had predicted an absolute majority for the BJP.
Known for his numeracy skills, Union Minister Piyush Goyal, also a chartered accountant by profession, had predicted an exact figure of 292-303 that the BJP alone may win the Lok Sabha elections.

In an exclusive conversation with The Economic Times's R Sriram at ET Awards, Piyush Goyal had predicted that according to a private survey conducted by him with 5.4 lakh respondents, the BJP is likely to win between 297-303 seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

He said the survey was conducted in August-September, 2018, in which respondents were asked several question about the government during a 30-minute physical interview.


He said that he had conducted a similar survey in 2013, in which he had predicted an absolute majority for the BJP in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, which was proved to be correct later on.
