BJP releases seventh candidate list for Lok Sabha polls; fields Navneet Rana from Maharashtra's Amravati

​Wednesday's announcement sees the party announce two Scheduled Caste candidates for the reserved seats in Maharashtra and Karnataka.

The Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday released more candidate names for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, with names released for Maharashtra and Karnataka. In what is its seventh list of names, the saffron party fielded Navneet Rana from Maharahtra's Amravati seat and Govind Karjol from Karnataka's Chitradurga.

Wednesday's announcement sees the party announce two Scheduled Caste candidates for the reserved seats in Maharashtra and Karnataka, with Amravati's Rana currently the incumbent in the seat having defeated Shiv Sena candidate and former Union minister Anandrao Adsul in the 2019 Lok Sabha election.

The Chitradurga seat has gone to former Karnataka deputy chief minister Govind Karjol has been fielded from the Chitradurga Lok Sabha seat, replacing BJP leader A Narayanaswamy, who had won the seat in 2019.


The BJP also announced names for the upcoming Andhra Pradesh legislative elections as well as for the Karnal by-poll.
