The saffron party dropped sitting MP Kirron Kher from Chandigarh and has fielded Sanjay Tandon in her place. Former Union Minister SS Ahluwalia has been given ticket from West Bengal's Asansol, replacing Bhojpuri singer Pawan Singh.
Ahluwalia currently represents Bardhaman-Durgapur Lok Sabha seat in West Bengal.
The party has given a ticket to Neeraj Shekhar, son of former Prime Minister Chandrashekhar, from the Balia Lok Sabha seat.
BJP has fielded Jaiveer Singh against Dimple Yadav from Mainpuri constituency in Uttar Pradesh.
Bhojpuri singer Pawan Singh, who had initially withdrawn his candidacy from Asansol, had announced that he will contest polls. Making his intentions clear via the social media platform X, Singh expressed his desire to contest the elections, seeking the support and blessings of the public. In a tweet, Singh affirmed, "I will contest elections to fulfill the promise made to people."
However, Singh didn't divulge the specific constituency and the political party under which he will contest the polls.
