Congress leader Rahul Gandhi criticized the BJP, alleging that while the party makes a lot of noise, it lacks the courage to amend the Constitution. He emphasized that truth and the support of the people are on his side. These remarks were made during a gathering in Mumbai, following his 'Nyay Sankalp Padyatra' from Mahatma Gandhi's home to the August Kranti Maidan, where the Quit India movement began in 1942.

He said, "The BJP makes a lot of noise, but it does not have enough courage to change the Constitution. Truth and the people's support are on our side."

The Lok Sabha member from Wayanad said the current fight is between two "expressions", not just between the BJP and the Congress.

"One thinks the country should run centrally, where one person possesses all the knowledge. Contrary to this, we think there should be decentralisation of power, and people's voices should be heard," Rahul Gandhi said.

Rahul Gandhi highlighted the ideological differences between the BJP and the Congress, stating that the current fight is about two "expressions" and not just between the two parties. He advocated for decentralization of power, emphasizing the importance of listening to people's voices.

Gandhi criticized the BJP's approach, stating, "If a person holds an IIT degree, it does not make him/her more knowledgeable than a farmer." He added that the BJP believes knowledge lies with one person, contrasting with the Congress's belief in decentralized power.

The BJP responded to these remarks by BJP MP Anantkumar Hegde, calling them his "personal opinion" and sought clarification from him. On Saturday, Rahul Gandhi concluded his 63-day-long 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra' by paying tribute to Dr. B R Ambedkar at his memorial 'Chaityabhoomi' in central Mumbai and reading the Preamble of the Constitution. The yatra, which began in strife-torn Manipur on January 14, was a mass outreach movement ahead of the Lok Sabha polls.
