BJP fields daughter of late Sushma Swaraj from New Delhi seat. Here is everything you need to know about her

The BJP has decided to provide an opportunity to the daughter of late former External Affairs Minister, Sushma Swaraj, by nominating her for the New Delhi seat. Bansuri Swaraj who was appointed as the co-convenor of the BJP Delhi's legal cell last year is all set to make her Lok Sabha poll debut after her name was included in the first list of BJP with other top leaders such as Narendra Modi, Rajnath Singh, Smriti Irani and others.

"I feel grateful. I express gratitude towards PM Modi, HM Amit Shah ji, JP Nadda ji and every BJP worker for giving me this opportunity. With the resolution of 'ab ki baar 400 paar', every BJP worker will work to make Narendra Modi the 'PradhanSewak' for the third time," said Bansuri Swaraj. Apart from expressing gratitude to the BJP central figures, she thanked Sangathan Mahamantri Pawan Rana, Jay Panda, her elder sister Alka Gujjar for getting the opportunity to fight in the upcoming polls.

Bansuri Swaraj, recognized as a distinguished lawyer, was appointed as the co-convenor of the BJP Delhi's legal cell last year. With fifteen years of experience in the legal profession, Swaraj's academic journey includes an undergraduate degree in B.A. (Hons) English Literature from the University of Warwick, followed by law studies at the esteemed BPP Law School in London.

She qualified as a Barrister at Law and was called to the bar from the Hon’ble Inn of Inner Temple, London. Later, she pursued her Masters at St. Catherine’s College, University of Oxford.

Swaraj is renowned as a formidable arguing counsel, having represented numerous high-profile clients in contentious litigation across various judicial fora. Her professional expertise encompasses a diverse range of disputes involving contracts, real estate, tax, international commercial arbitrations, and several criminal trials. Additionally, Swaraj holds the position of Additional Advocate General for the State of Haryana alongside managing her private practice.
