Speaking at Umiyadham in Jaspur, the PM asked the people there to refrain from female foeticide.

Exuding confidence that his party will return to power after the Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi continued to defend his government’s anti-terror action on Pakistan during his two-day visit to his home state where he inaugurated a slew of projects.

“Don’t worry, I only will be there after 2019 (polls),” he said after laying the foundation stone of the Umia Dham at Jaspur near Ahmedabad on Monday.

PM Modi said he believed in “barging into the houses of terrorists and killing them” as he vowed to find out those responsible for terror attacks in India “even if they hide in bowels of the earth”.

Reacting to the opposition parties’ questions on the recent air strikes by the Indian Air Force, he said it was only natural that we all should trust the armed forces and be proud of them. “Yet, I don’t understand why some people still want to question the forces,” he said.

The mantra of the opposition is “come unite and finish Modi” while that of the country is “come unite and finish terror,” he said. Terror needs to be tackled at the source, he said. Modi reiterated his stand that if India had Rafale fighter aircraft, the outcome of the air strike would have been different.

“If the Indian Air Force had Rafale jets, the situation would have been different, but some people do not have it in them to understand this,” he said, adding “when I say this, they question the Air Force strike.” “If the Indian Air Force had Rafale fighter jets not one of this side would have gone and none on the other would have survived,” he added.

Modi also spoke at Jamnagar after inaugurating a 750-bed annexe of GG Hospital and launching the SAUNI project and other irrigation projects. Taking a jibe at the Congress, Modi said for many years there was acute water shortage in Gujarat. “While there was a problem, there was also a determination to solve this problem. We worked to improve water scarcity, particularly in areas where water shortage was more,” he said adding that the Sardar Sarovar Dam has brought much relief to the people of Gujarat. “This project was completed despite neglect from earlier state governments and opposition from various quarters. I was certain that I can’t allow ‘Tanker Raj’ to carry on in Gujarat,” he added.

Speaking at Umiyadham in Jaspur, the PM asked the people there to refrain from female foeticide and underlined the importance of spiritualism in strengthening society.
